¡Cómo nacieron nuestras mantequillas!
Nuttinosh is woman-owned nut butter business located in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Our products are hand-crafted and made in small batches to capture the fresh, incredible flavor of pistachios.
Why pistachios? I believe there is no better nut to use as a base for the tastiest nut butter. When my family and I recently traveled through Europe, my 11-month-old son, Everest, became obsessed with the delicate, unique flavor of pistachios. He inspired me to create a line of amazing-tasting butters and spreads that just can’t be found anywhere else.
Pistachi-oh!
There’s truly no other nut just like it! Pistachios are bursting with vitamins, minerals, and healthy unsaturated fats that can keep your blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol in check. Their high amounts of fiber can make you feel fuller for longer, and can aid in the production of “good” gut bacteria. Considered a complete protein source, pistachios provide all nine essential amino acids for ages five and up. But most of all, they taste simply amazing! And when that flavor is combined with simple, natural enhancements like dates or sea salt, the result is an incredible and unexpected flavor profile. You’ll be delighted after your first try!
About the Pistachio
Believe it or not, the pistachio is actually a seed! A member of the cashew family, it originated from the Afghanistan, Iran and Central Asia areas. Pistachio seeds were eaten as early as 6750 BCE; they were consumed in the Bronze Age in Central Asia.
Pistachio trees were brought into Asia and Europe in the first century AD by the Romans and soon thereafter, cultivated across Southern Europe and North Africa.
In the 19th century, the pistachio was commercially grown in parts of the English-speaking world. It was introduced in 1854 as a garden tree in California.
Currently, the U.S. and Iran currently control 70% of the world export of pistachios; the U.S. leads that production.
